India's equity benchmarks closed lower on Wednesday, dragged by losses in banking, FMCG and auto stocks, despite the surge in the final hour of the session that limited the decline. On Wednesday, the BSE Sensex shed 254.33 points to 59,413.27 and the Nifty fell 37.30 points to 17,711.30.

ZEEL: Invesco Developing Markets Fund along with OFI Global China Fund have moved the National Company Law Tribunal against media major Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (ZEEL) for not calling an extraordinary general meeting of the company.

 

Blue Dart Express: Blue Dart Express has announced an increase in prices, effective from January 2022. The average shipping price increase will be 9.6 per cent compared to 2021.

 

Max Healthcare: Kayak Investments Holding, one of the promoter entities of Max Healthcare Institute Ltd, on Wednesday sold 8.44 crore shares of the company for Rs 2,956 crore through open market transactions. The shares were picked up by Veritas Funds Plc, SBI Mutual Fund and HDFC Mutual Fund among others.

 

Persistent Systems: IT firm Persistent Systems on Wednesday said its US subsidiary will acquire North Carolina-based Software Corporation International (SCI) and its affiliate, Fusion360 for USD 53 million - a move that will bolster its expertise in serving banking, financial services, and insurance (BFSI) clients.

 

IndiaMART InterMESH: IndiaMART InterMESH has made an additional investment of ₹ 10 crore to acquire a 7 per cent stake in Mobisy Technologies (MTPL). The total shareholding of the company in MTPL, post this investment, will be 15.98 per cent.

IndusInd Bank: Private sector IndusInd Bank on Wednesday said it has acquired a 4.79 per cent stake in embattled tea plantation firm McLeod Russel India by invoking 50 lakh pledged shares of the company.

 

Ashoka Buildcon: Ashoka Buildcon has acquired the remaining 40 per cent stake in Ashoka Bettadahalli Shivamogga Road (ABSRPL) for ₹ 2 lakh.
