The recent spree of stray dogs attacking humans in Sultanpur Lodhi continues unabated as most recently, 2 children were viciously mauled by dogs, with one of them ending up in critical condition. The children, a girl and the boy were playing outside in the village of Ugrupur and Haidrabad bet when suddenly theyr were pounced by the dogs. Both the children had to be admitted to the Civil Hospital, where the girl’s condition is said to be critical.

 

Giving information about this, duty doctor Puneet Kaur said that Meera (6), daughter of Vinod Hall, resident of village Ugrupur and Kartik (3), son of Mani Kumar, resident of Haidrabad, were brought to her for treatment due to stray dogbite. Among these, Meera's condition is very serious.

 

Meanwhile, Sarpanch Sukhchain Singh said that the government should pay attention to abandoned dogs. Dogs are reportedly now man-eaters, which is very important to control. He told that even before this, stray dogs had badly mauled a woman and a child to death. The residents areare extremely scared of these abandoned dogs even being afraid of leaving their houses. It is being told that both the children were made victims of stray dogs while they were playing.

 

DC Kapurthala Amit Kumar Panchal expressed extreme regret over this incident and said that he ordered the SDM and BDPO of Sultanpur Lodhi to provide proper treatment to the children affected in this case. He said that they are actively working towards providing a permanent solutions to these vicious stray dogs.
