TheDeputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma on Wednesday has appealed the streetvendors of Ludhiana to avail the loans worth Rs 10,000 under Prime MinisterStreet Vendor’s Atma Nirbhar Nidhi scheme.
Onthe directions of Chief Secretary Vini Mahajan, Deputy Commissioner said thatthe administration would organize special camps in the banks to receive theapplications from the street vendors on every Saturday for which theinstructions have already been issued to all branch managers of the banks.
Hesaid that the street vendors need to get certificate of street vendor fromMunicipal Corporation or Municipal Council in the district which will be submittedalong with application.
Hesaid that vendors can avail of a working capital loan of up to Rs 10,000, whichis repayable in monthly instalments in one year. Ontimely or early repayment of the loan, an interest subsidy of 7 per cent perannum will be credited to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries, he added.
Heappealed all the street vendors of Ludhiana to take maximum benefit of thescheme which is aimed to revive their business affected due to the Covid.
