After senior Shiromani Akali Dal patron and Punjab former chief minister Prakash Singh Badal has been grilled by the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in the Kotkapura Firing Case now it is the turn of Sukhbir Singh Badal to appear before SIT.

SIT has summoned Sukhbir Badal for the interrogation for his alleged involvement in the Kotkapura Firing Case on June 26 (Saturday).

The firing case that took place way back in 2015 was during the term of SAD’s ruling party in the state and Sukhbir then was holding the portfolio of the home ministry.

In this case, former DGP Sumedh Saini has also been grilled by the SIT.

With these probes, SIT strives to reach the accused that had permitted the district police to open fire at the mob protesting over the desecration of Guru Granth Sahib and to what extent their action was justified in self-defense and if the standard operating procedure was followed.
