Ludhiana, March 2: Under the “Youth of Punjab” campaign ofthe state government, Punjab Youth Development Board chairman Sukhwinder SinghBindra today distributed sports kits to the sportspersons of Khalsa College forWomen during a function held in the college premises, here.
While attending a function in the premises of Khalsa Collegefor Women, Civil Lines, the Punjab Youth Development Board chairman said thatin order to make the state sporting power house in the country by promotingsports in rural areas, Youth of Punjab campaign has been started by the boardin which sports kits are being distributed to the youth of the state.
He said that the the mission is aimed to engage the youth ofthe state in the sports by channelizing the unbounded energy in the rightdirection. He said that these kits would play a pivotal role in the promotionof sports and other social activities in the rural areas.
He added the state government led by Chief Minister CaptAmarinder Singh is already leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Punjabemerges as a front runner state in the arena of sports and distribution of thekits would prove catalyst in bringing revolution in the sports at thegrassroots level.
He said that sports kits would be provided to all the youthclubs of the state in the coming phases.
Chairman Sukhwinder Singh Bindra also lauded theindustrialists for sponsoring the kits and said that they have laid thefoundation of a great movement aimed at revival of the sports.
