Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput found dead in his Bandra flat on June 14, 2020, after which the actor has been in the headlines. The actor, who has appeared in many of Bollywood's best films, started his acting career with the television industry. After getting success here, he got a chance to make his Bollywood debut with the film 'Kai Po Che', in which his acting was highly appreciated. Today, when the actor's death is about to complete one year, let's know how Sushant's filmy journey has been full of ups and downs.

Sushant Singh Rajput, a resident of Patna, was the youngest brother of four sisters. After the death of his mother in 2002, Sushant's family shifted to Delhi, from where he completed his schooling. Sushant always wanted to become an astronaut, but due to family pressure, he enrolled in Delhi College of Engineering to do mechanical engineering. Sushant has always been a fan of Shahrukh Khan, seeing that he also got interested in acting.


Learned dance from Shiamak Davar while doing engineering


While doing engineering in Delhi, Sushant joined Shiamak Davar's dance group to be a trained dancer. Along with this, he also started learning acting from theater director Barry John. In the year 2006, Sushant also worked as a background dancer behind Aishwarya Rai in the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games. After increasing interest in dance and acting, he dropped out in the final year of engineering and shifted to Mumbai. After coming here, Sushant joined Nadira Babbar's theater group.

This is how he got the first offer of acting

While working at Prithvi Theatre, the casting team of Balaji Telefilms caught sight of Sushant, where he got an offer for audition. Pleased with the performance, Sushant was given the second lead role of Preet Singh Juneja in the show 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil'. This show was telecast in the year 2008 in which Harshad Chopra and Aditi Gupta were also in lead roles. Sushant's character was removed from the show after a few episodes, but due to popularity, the makers called him again.


Ekta Kapoor was Impressed , gave work in Pavitra Rishta

Producer Ekta Kapoor was delighted to see Sushant's performance in the show 'Kis Desh Mein Hai Mera Dil'. Ekta suggested Sushant's name to her creative team for the lead actor in the show Pavitra Rishta, but the team refused. The team later agreed after Ekta Kapoor took the guarantee. In this show, Sushant gained a lot of popularity by playing the role of Manav Deshmukh. During the shooting of the show, the closeness of Sushant and Ankita Lokhande started growing and both got into a relationship.


Left 'Pavitra Rishta' show for big projects in Bollywood

After being a part of the show for about two and a half years, Sushant decided to leave the show to pursue a course in film making in the US. During this, he also worked as an assistant director in the film 'Raaz 2'.



This is how he got work in the film 'Kai Po Che'

In the year 2011, casting director Mukesh Chhabra caught sight of Sushant and he called the actor for an audition. After giving the audition, Sushant got a role in the film Kai Po Che. At this time the actor was about to enroll in Stanford University, however after getting the offer of a Bollywood film, he decided to stay here. The film, based on Chetan Bhagat's book '3 Mistakes of My Life', proved to be a hit.He also signed Rajkumar Hirani's film 'PK' during the shooting of Kai Po Che, which became her third film.

After appearing in hit films, Sushant signed a contract with Yash Raj Films, due to which he was seen in 'Shuddh Desi Romance' (2013) and 'Detective Byomkesh Bakshi' (2015). After this, Sushant was going to be seen in Shekhar Kapur's film 'Pani' being produced in co-production of Yash Raj Films, but the film was stopped due to back-out of production. After a few months, Sushant terminated his contract with Yash Raj Films.

The film Chhichhore, released in the year 2018, proved to be one of the best films of Sushant's acting career. The film, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, has also won the National Film Award. This is Sushant's third film to collect more than Rs 100 crore at the box office after PK and MS Dhoni. The film 'PK' collected Rs 854 crore, 'MS' Dhoni collected Rs 216 crore and 'Chhichhore' collected Rs 215 crore.



Sushant had turned down the offer of these films

Sushant was earlier cast in Arjun Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer film Half Girlfriend (2017), but the actor turned down the film due to Raabta (2017). Similarly, the film Fitoor (2015) also went to Sushant before Aditya Roy Kapur. The actor waited for several months for this Abhishek Kapoor film, although the shooting of the film kept getting postponed. Meanwhile, Sushant got the offer of Shekhar's film Pani and he got out of Fitoor. Apart from these, Sushant has also rejected the films Sadak 2 (2020) and Romeo Akbar Walter (2019).



Sushant Singh Rajput removed from these films

After the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, everyone believed that he had become a victim of the lobby and camp culture of the industry, due to which many films were left out of his hands. Let us tell you that Sushant was twice replaced by Ranveer Singh in Goliyon Ki Raasleela: Ramleela (2013) and Befikre (2016), Arjun Kapoor in Aurangzeb (2013) and Varun Dhawan in Rifle Man (Upcoming Bollywood film). During an interview given in the year 2019, the actor had told that last year (2018) he had offers for 12 films, but most of these films went out of his hands.



The last film 'Dil Bechara' got the love of the audience

Sushant Singh Rajput was last seen in Dil Bechara which released on Disney Plus Hotstar on July 24, a month after his death. The film was the directorial debut of casting director Mukesh Chhabra, who cast Sushant in Kai Po Che. A few hours after the film's release, Fan gave it a rating of 9.9 and made it the highest rated film ever, whose rating has now reduced to just 6.6. It was the Hindi remake of the Hollywood film 'The Fault in Our Star', from which Sanjana Sanghi made her lead debut. Watching Sushant taking last breathe in his last film was a very emotional moment for his fans.

This could be Sushant's upcoming project
Sanjay Puran Singh Chauhan was about to make 'Chanda Mama Door Ke' with Sushant. Rumi Jaffrey was preparing to do Love Story with him, while Ramesh Taurani was preparing to do an action thriller. Kamal Jain, who was the producer of MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, was about to sign him in the remake of South. After the death of Sushant, the makers have put all these films on hold for the time being.
