Late actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sister Priyanka Singh has moved to Supreme Court to challenge an FIR against her filed by Rajput’s girlfriend and the prime suspect in his death case Rhea Chakraborty. Rhea had alleged Priyanka of getting him medication on a fake prescription. On February 15, the Bombay High Court had said the case filed against Priyanka Singh holds. At the same time, the High Court dismissed a case filed against his other sister, Mitu Singh.
Rajput’s sisters were accused of forgery and violation of the NDPS (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances) Act based on charges by actor Rhea Chakraborty. The CBI investigation against Priyanka Singh, who shared the medicine prescription with Sushant over WhatsApp, will continue, the High Court ruled, an order that she has challenged.
The judges noted that: "There is prima facie case found against Priyanka Singh and there should not be any impediment against investigation against her.”
The WhatsApp chats shared between Sushant Rajput and sister Priyanka Singh got leaked in September, revealing that his family knew about his mental health issues. The chats dated 8 June last year, 6 days before Sushant’s death in his Mumbai apartment showed that Priyanka had asked him to have three medicines - Librium, Nexito and Lonazep. These 3 medicines are prescribed for depression and anxiety and cannot be given to anyone without a medical check-up. The chats also indicated that Priyanka had shared a prescription for the drugs on WhatsApp. These chats bring Sushant’s family under suspicion of their claim that they were unaware of the actor’s mental health problem he was suffering from.
Rhea Chakraborty had been accused by Sushant Singh Rajput’s family of mentally harassing him, and that she stole crores from his bank accounts. They also claimed that Rhea had procured drugs for Rajput and encouraged him to take his life.
