Sushmita Sen’s brother Rajeev Sen and his wife Charu Asopa brought a baby girl to this world on Monday morning and aunt Sushmita Sen took to Instagram to share her excitement in a post that shows her in a PPE kit and the caption reads as, "Answered prayers. Lakshmi arrives just before Diwali! It's a girl! Congratulations Charu Asopa and Rajeev Sen...What a beauty she is! I became a ‘bua’ this morning. So happy." She also wrote, "Not allowed to share baby pictures yet, so sharing mine from just before Charu delivered our little angel I was blessed to witness it! Thank you Doctor Rishma Pai for making this such a beautiful and peaceful experience! You're just the best."
She ended the post with, "Congratulations to Asopa and Sen family, 3 grandchildren, all girls! I love you guys."
Sushmita’s sister-in-law Charu also commented on the actress's post and expressed her love for the family. "Love you a lot didi. Bua ki jaan aagyi finally." To which, the actress replied, "@asopacharu God bless you both wit ALL THE HAPPINESS in the universe meri jaan!! Thankyou for giving me such a lovely gift for life!!! I love you yaa!!

New father Rajeev Sen posted pictures of his wife Charu and the baby with a caption: "Blessed with a baby girl. Charu is doing fine and fit... So proud of my wife for being strong right till the end. Thank you all for your prayers. Thank you God."
New mom Charu Asopa shared the same pictures on her Instagram and wrote, "Blessed with a baby girl. Thank you Rajeev for always being there for me, love you... Thank you all for your love and prayers. Thank you God." Charu is a television actress.

The couple tied the knot in a formal ceremony on 7 June 2019 after dating for four months. The ceremony was followed by a grand party in Goa which saw friends and family attend.

Charu Asopa had earlier worked on many TV shows like Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo, Bade Achhe Lagte Hain, Diya Aur Baati Hum and Mere Angne Mein, to name a few.
Sushmita Sen who became the first Indian woman to win the title of Miss Universe in the year 1994 at the age of 18 herself became a mother at the age of 24 by adopting two girls, Renee, 21 and Alisah, 11 and calls it the "wisest decision" of her life.
