Shri Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari today thanked the
Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for sanctioning Rs 13.7 crores for the
agriculture college at Ballowal Soukhandi near Balachaur.
The state government sanctioned the said amount for the
college recently. Tewari said, this will go a long way in helping the aspiring
students in the surrounding areas to study agriculture. He said, agricultural
study was not only in great demand in the country, but abroad as well.
The Punjab government has released a grant of Rs 13.7
crores for setting up of agriculture college in the Regional Research Centre in
the Kandi area of Ballowal Soukhandhi near Balachaur.
Thanking the Chief Minister, Tewari said, the agricultural
college will fulfill the needs of the students from Nawanshahr, Ropar and
Hoshiarpur districts as this centre is well connected with other areas of the
state.
The college will provide four and six year BSc and MSc
degrees in agriculture to the students.
