Shri Anandpur Sahib MP Manish Tewari today thanked theChief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh for sanctioning Rs 13.7 crores for theagriculture college at Ballowal Soukhandi near Balachaur.
The state government sanctioned the said amount for thecollege recently. Tewari said, this will go a long way in helping the aspiringstudents in the surrounding areas to study agriculture. He said, agriculturalstudy was not only in great demand in the country, but abroad as well.
The Punjab government has released a grant of Rs 13.7crores for setting up of agriculture college in the Regional Research Centre inthe Kandi area of Ballowal Soukhandhi near Balachaur.
Thanking the Chief Minister, Tewari said, the agriculturalcollege will fulfill the needs of the students from Nawanshahr, Ropar andHoshiarpur districts as this centre is well connected with other areas of thestate.
The college will provide four and six year BSc and MScdegrees in agriculture to the students.
