‘The Kashmir Files’ line producer commits SUICIDE, heartbroken Anupam Kher shares her ‘last message’

Anupam Kher shared some unexpected and shocking news with his virtual family on Thursday night. Sarahna, the line producer for the actor's film The Kashmir Files, committed suicide.

Sarahna, the line producer for Anupam Kher's film 'The Kashmir Files', committed suicide, according to the Bollywood actor. Anupam paid tribute to Sarahna on Instagram with a heartfelt message. Sarahna, according to reports, hanged herself on June 30. Anupam received a text message from her mother on her phone. In his post, the actor also shared a screenshot of the same.

In his lengthy message, the A Wednesday superstar described how the cast and crew celebrated late Sarahna's birthday on the set of the film in Uttarakhand. Sarahna travelled to her birthplace of Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, after the statewide lockdown was announced last year, according to Anupam.

Sharing a picture of Sarahna with her pet dog, Anupam penned, "This is #Sarahna. She was the line producer of #KashmirFiles when I was shooting for the film at Dehradun & Mussoorie. The unit celebrated her birthday on Dec 22nd last year at the location. After the shoot she went to her hometown in Aligarh because of the lockdown. She was bright, brilliant, helpful and excellent at her job. She messaged me on my mother’s birthday to wish mom from her side. I called her and spoke to her and passed mom’s blessings to her."


Heartbroken Anupam continued in his note by revealing that he heard of Sarahna's death on July 8. The actor prayed for the family of the dead."And today I got a message (4th pic) from her phone which really shook me and saddened me deeply. Spoke to her shattered mother," he wrote.

Anupam concluded by stating that depression is drastically affecting the younger generation."This depression really is effecting the younger generation drastically. I pray for her soul and hope her mother and brother #Antriksh can deal with this loss. It is so sad!! #OmShanti @the_soulflower #MentalHealthMatters," he concluded.

Vivek Agnihotri directed and wrote 'The Kashmir Files'. The film, which is set to be released on August 15 in honour of Independence Day, portrays the tale of the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits.
