MetGala, formally known as the Costume Institute Gala or the costume InstituteBenefit and also called Met Ball is finally back this year after beingdelayed due to Covid-19. The Met Gala is all set to return this September andthe show is already hitting headlines. The buzz is about the co-host of theshow. As per the recent report, actor Timothee Chalamet may be one of the hostsfor the fashion evening.
MetGala 2021 will mark Chalamet’s debut at the event. The Little Women star isamong the many contenders to be chosen for the hosting position of gala thanksto the history of experimenting with fashion and collaboration of designers likeGucci, Haider Ackermann, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen for the red carpetlooks.
The returnof Met Gala this year was confirmed by the Institute of the Metropolitan Museumof Art, Anna Wintor, costume institute booster, and Conde Nast Chief contentofficer. They also said that event will be carried in a different way this year.According to Just Jared, this year on September 13, an intimate Met gala willhappen because of the covid-19 restrictions and then a greater event willreturn on May 2, 2022.
Theevent usually happens in May but due to the covid scare, it was pushed back to Septemberthis year. As per the reports, the theme this year is ‘In America: A lexicon ofFashion’. Also, next year’s theme is also revealed which will be ‘In America:An Anthology of Fashion’.
