Met Gala, formally known as the Costume Institute Gala or the costume Institute Benefit and also called Met Ball is finally back this year after being delayed due to Covid-19. The Met Gala is all set to return this September and the show is already hitting headlines. The buzz is about the co-host of the show. As per the recent report, actor Timothee Chalamet may be one of the hosts for the fashion evening.
Met Gala 2021 will mark Chalamet’s debut at the event. The Little Women star is among the many contenders to be chosen for the hosting position of gala thanks to the history of experimenting with fashion and collaboration of designers like Gucci, Haider Ackermann, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen for the red carpet looks.
The return of Met Gala this year was confirmed by the Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Anna Wintor, costume institute booster, and Conde Nast Chief content officer. They also said that event will be carried in a different way this year. According to Just Jared, this year on September 13, an intimate Met gala will happen because of the covid-19 restrictions and then a greater event will return on May 2, 2022.
The event usually happens in May but due to the covid scare, it was pushed back to September this year. As per the reports, the theme this year is ‘In America: A lexicon of Fashion’. Also, next year’s theme is also revealed which will be ‘In America: An Anthology of Fashion’.
