Expressingsatisfaction over the ongoing wheat procurement operations and arrangements putin place to facilitate all stakeholders, Punjab Food & Supply MinisterBharat Bhushan Ashu said there is no shortage of bardana in mandis.

Hesaid that around 25-28 lakh MT tonne crops have already been procured. We arereceiving 8-9L MT tonne crops daily.

Meanwhile,Sanguru is leading in terms of Wheat arrival where 4.76 LMT of Wheat hadarrived in the mandis till Saturday, followed by Patiala and Mansa with 3.87LMT and 2.32 LMT respectively.

SecretaryMandi Board and Director Food & Civil Supplies Ravi Bhagat, said that thetargeted procurement of Wheat in the state is 130 LMT during ongoing RabiMarketing Season.

Healso revealed that 5.74 lakh passes have already been given to farmers throughArthiyas by Mandi Board and various Market Committees in view of the staggeredmovement of wheat due to COVID-19.
