On Monday, February 14, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Punjab. He will address the public at PAP ground in Jalandhar.

PM’s rally will be held in Jalandhar, Pathankot and Abohar on February 14, 16 and 17 respectively. He will cover three regions of Punjab i.e., Malwa, Doaba and Majha. This will be his first visit to Punjab after the security breach incident.

A serious lapse was recorded in the security of PM in the poll-bound state of Punjab on January 5. PM, who was to visit the National Martyrs Memorial at Hussainiwal in Ferozepur District of Punjab was stopped midway 30 KMs before the place on an overbridge by some 100 protesters blocking the path using a trolley. PM waited for 15-20 minutes for the road to be cleared on the Over Bridge but returned back when the local Police failed to do that.

This time foolproof arrangements have been done by the Punjab Government for PM’s visit. Thousands of security personnel have been deployed near PAP ground. Three-level security will be provided to PM, i.e., Punjab Police, CRPF and commando squads. Seating arrangement for 25,000 people has been made on the ground. Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori and Commissioner of Police Naunihal Singh are keeping a close eye on all the arrangements done so far.

The route plan has been diverted from Ludhiana Phillaur to Phillaur Noormehal Nakodar road to provide a clear route to PM. Eleven medical teams have been stationed on the highway. To avoid any kind of emergency all the security arrangements have been made this time.
