Furtherexpanding the Covid vaccination ambit, Deputy Commissioner Varinder KumarSharma on Monday took a major decision in the larger public interest to ensurethe safety of the wider population from the Covid pandemic by allowingvaccination for the journalists, employees of all government/private banks,government/private schools, staff of food grain agencies, judicialofficers/court staff/advocates, members of the Non-Government Organizations(NGOs) who have worked to check spread of Covid19 pandemic by registering themas frontline workers.

Themove comes after Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma presided over ameeting of the District Task Force to stem steep rise by accelerating thevaccination drive to face the pandemic in full blast.

Hesaid that all government/private banks, government/private schools, food grainagencies, judicial officers/courts staff/advocates, members of theNon-Government Organizations (NGOs) by registering them as frontline workers asthey all have worked tirelessly during the pandemic and have discharged theirduties as frontline workers either online or offline modes.

Hesaid that for vaccination, they need to carry the official ID and Aadhar Cardand can get Covid jab at the session sites set up in the government/privatehospitals. He said that for a vaccine shot, one has to pay authorised chargesfixed by the government.

DeputyCommissioner directed the health department to further step up the vaccinationdrive to ensure all eligible can be covered and can have smooth access to thevaccine.

Heexhorted all the eligible people to give topmost priority for getting thevaccine at the earliest.

Furtherurging to people to be careful/be watchful as the Covid is not over yet and ifthe people want to remain free of virus, they have to strictly follow Covidappropriate behaviour including wearing of masks, maintaining social distancingand washing hand/using sanitisers frequently.

Heappealed the people to not to lower guard at any cost and help theadministration in the battle against the invisible enemy.
