Tom Daley, an inspiration to LGBT youth, know why?

Tom Daley has set the bars too high by being a prodigy, a gay athlete, a TV star, a young father and now an Olympic champion!

The 27-year-old actor and diver was in tears as has won his first Olympic gold medal at Tokyo 2020  Olympic Games. During an interview Tom Daley “I feel incredibly proud to say that I am gay man and also an Olympic champion.” 

He also mentioned that  this time there were more people participating in the Olympics who were openly gay than any time. “ When I was younger I didn’t think I’d ever achieve anything because of who I was. 

To be an Olympic champion now just shows that you can achieve anything.” Soon after his victory with partner Matty Lee the young athlete broke into tears. 

Tom Daley also spoke about a nightmare that he always saw where he was 15 and needs a simple dive to win the gold in the Olympic games but suddenly he sees a shark swimming towards him and then he wakes up. 

“Of course I die and see on the news that an Olympic diver has been eaten by a shark. I don’t Know what was happening with my imagination then,” Daley added as he explained the dreams. 

Daley had never dropped out of the top two In the whole competition at any point. This was Daley’s third Olympic medal as he had won a bronze medal back in 2012 and 2016. 

Daley mad his Olympic debut in 2008 when he was 14-years-old. There were many heart melting things that he shared during his interview, “ The fact that I can say my son watched me became Olympic champion on TV and they couldn’t be here-- is just, it’s such a great feeling.

And to be able to do with your best mate as well” he mentioned. Right after 2012 Olympics, Daley had mentored a group of celebrities who competed against each other in a TV reality show named ‘Splash.’
