Tribal Mahotsav 2022: Jharkhand gearing up to host its first-ever tribal fest since inception

It is for the first time since Jharkhand came in to existence the state will witness any specific mega event dedicated for the tribal in the form of 'Tribal Mahotsav'

Since its inception after getting carved out of united Bihar in 2000, the tribal-dominated state of Jharkhand is all set to host its first-ever Tribal festival. A two-day fest starting August 9th ‘Tribal Mahotsav’ is convened under the patronage of CM Hemant Soren.

The fest will see the presence of tribal leaders and people from the tribal community from all over the country scheduled to take place at Morhabadi ground in the state capital, Ranchi.

While unveiling the logo of the two-day fest CM Hemant Soren, explicitly made the intentions of his government clear with the organization of more such events in the future to empower the tribal community in the state.

On the occasion, he said, “these kinds of events will provide a huge boost to the tribal community in the state. It is a matter of pride for the people of Jharkhand that the state is hosting this event for the first time since its establishment.”

Tribal Mahotsav will witness the presentation of cultures of different tribes. Apart from Jharkhand, tribes from Chhattisgarh, Assam, Odisha, Manipur, Mizoram, and other parts of the country will take part in the two-day event and will display their culture in the form of dance, music, art, and paintings from this mega platform.

The mega event will feature tribal history, literature, culture, art, and food from tribal personalities from all over the nation. A special fashion show event dedicated to displaying the rich dressing culture of the Indian tribes is also scheduled to be put on display at the forthcoming event.

The entire schedule for the two-day fest has been released by the government. The timing for the commemoration of the event is scheduled at 1 PM on August 9th by former CM and Rajya Sabha MP Shibu Soren while Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel will be the chief guest at the closing ceremony of the fest.
