Joefred and Ralphred Gregory, twins died last week, hours apart after battling with coronavirus infection. Both Joefred and Ralphred celebrated their birthday on April 23 and caught Covid a day later. The heartbreaking incident happened in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh.

The twins were hospitalized in Anand hospital. On May 10, both had tested negative for coronavirus. But a few days later, on May 13, their parents Gregory Raymond and Soja Raphael were informed that Joefred had passed away due to coronavirus infection. Ralphred was told that his brother had to be moved to a hospital in Delhi.

Somehow, he had a feeling that something terrible had happened. He said to his mother, “Ma, you are lying. You are hiding something.” The following day, Ralphred also lost his life to Covid.

Their father says, “Our world came crashing when Joefred died, I had a sixth sense that Ralphred would not make it. Simply because they were inseparable.”

“Whatever happened to one, it happened to the other. That’s how it was since birth. I had told my wife after we got the news that Joefred had died that Ralphred won’t return home alone either.”

“Our family is broken, Covid took away my sons who had never harmed anyone in their entire lives,” says Raphael.

Dr. Munesh Pandit said, “They were fit, well-built, 6ft in height. The hospital staff, the doctors tried out their best.

The death of the twins is one of the most tragic deaths India is witnessing during the second wave of coronavirus.
