
Two Punjab Police officers were allegedly shot dead by some unidentifiedpersons, who were in the car, in the new grain market of Jagraon on Saturdaynight.
Jagraon is a small town located 45 kilometers from Ludhiana.
According to the Deputy Superintendent of Police G S Bains, AssistantSub-Inspector Bhagwan Singh died on the spot while severely injured ASIDalwinder Singh succumbed to his injuries on his way to the hospital.
It may be noted here that both the deceased officials wereposted in the state’s Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) in Jagraon.
However, as the incident broke out, senior police officersincluding Inspector General of Police Ludhiana range Nau Nihal Singh, rushed tothe spot.
Thepolice further added that the assailants managed to flee from the spot afterthe incident.
