Congress has yet again gone for a master stroke. Congress party in the state of UP has announced its candidature list for the upcoming 2022 elections. The list consists of 125 candidates. As Priyanka Gandhi announced the list, she mentioned that the list contains the names of women that were tortured or tormented in any way during the rule of Yogi Adityanath. The list contains 40% women and 40% youth candidates.
The surprising fact is that the list contains the name of the Unnao rape victim’s mother. She will contest the elections from Unnao. At the same time the victim of the infamous Cheer Harran incident of Lakhimpur has been given a ticket from Mohammadi seat. An asha worker, Poonam Pandey who was agitated for honorarium has been nominated from Shahjahanpur. Other names in the list are Pankhuri Pathak, nominated from Noida. Archana Gautam popularly known as Bikini Girl from Hastinapur has also been nominated.
Priyanka Gandhi also said that by keeping 40% women candidates we are giving out a new message. We hope that them we will have a new kind of politics. In the tickets given to women, some are journalists, some are actresses. The list also includes the women who have been tortured or tormented by the Yogi government.
