Massive uproar was witnessed at the Shri Guru Ramdas Ji International Airport, Amritsar on 5th January 2022. Reportedly, around 150 passengers who booked their flights with foreign company Neos to go to Georgia, USA were stranded at the airport for around 24 hours. Neither the passengers are being allowed to leave the airport nor are they getting any information about the flight. On being asked, ground staff is also giving unsatisfactory responses.
The people checked in at the airport on January 4, 2022 as the flight was to take off at 12:50 pm on that day. Since then, they were stranded at the airport waiting to catch the flight. Passengers stuck at airport shared a video of the massive uproar that took place inside premises. People stated that airport authorities did not make any arrangements regarding their food or stay while being stuck inside the airport.
Calling these statements baseless, Amritsar airport staff said that passengers were offered to get hotel rooms at night but they refused for the same. As per information, Neos flight coming from America's Georgia to Amritsar airport could not land at 11.30 pm due to fog after which it was sent to Jaipur for landing.
There is an uproar at the Jaipur airport as well because all the passengers who wanted to land in Amritsar were stranded in Jaipur without any arrangements. People complained that they were not allowed to leave the airport and were also not informed about what arrangements are being done to send them to Amritsar.
