Vande Bharat Express leaves Chandigarh for Delhi with 75% occupancy, covers the 232 km stretch in a mere 2.50 hours

The train plying on the route holds a total capacity of 1015 for Chair Cars while there are a total of 113 seats in the Executive class and will run 6 days a week

The indigenous and one of the primary flagship programs of PM Narendra Modi, the Vande Bharat Express saw the launch of its 4th train from Delhi to Una in Poll-bound Himachal Pradesh.

The train chugged off from Chandigarh for Delhi on Wednesday with a total occupancy of 74.8% the fare for which is earmarked for Rs 768, while Kalka-Delhi Shatabdi costs Rs 885 from Chandigarh-Delhi.

The train departed for Delhi at its scheduled time of 3.30 PM after it arrived from Una at 3.25. Senior DCM Hari Mohan said while talking to the media that during the initial days the occupancy is favorable, hoping the popularity of the train will rise soon.

He went on to inform that the train departed with the occupancy of 844 passengers against its total capacity of 1128. The train plying on the route holds a total capacity of 1015 for Chair Cars while there are a total of 113 seats in the Executive class.

On Wednesday 731 passengers boarded the Chair Class, whereas the Executive Class ran to its full capacity. When asked about the return trip Mohan went on to say that the train arrived from Delhi to Chandigarh with an occupancy of 42% that is 480 passengers at 8.40 in the morning.

As scheduled the train will run for 6 days a week barring Wednesday. The travel time between the route is not just less rather the fare is also cheaper on the route compared to Shatabdi Express.

The passengers who traveled between Chandigarh to Delhi were all praised for the comfort of the train over the fact that it just takes 2.50 hours to reach Delhi and back.

While Shatabdi Express attains a maximum speed of 80-90 KMPH between the Chandigarh-Ambala section takes 3.30 hours against Vande Bharat’s 110 which is built with a maximum reach to attain 130 KMPH.

The resident of Sector 19 named Rajiv Bhatia said, “The speed was displayed on the screen, it attained 120-130KMPH on the Ambala-Delhi section.”

The train is the Vande Bharat Express’ fourth release and the most upgraded model, further upgradation in the train will be seen in its new launches scheduled.
