Over a career spanning more than five decades, she graced the silver screen in over 90 films across various languages.

Her exceptional talent was recognized with the National Film Award for her role as a clanswoman in "Reshma and Shera" (1971). Additionally, she has received the Padma Shri and Padma Bhushan awards for her remarkable contributions to Indian cinema.
