Bollywood superstar actor Pankaj Tripathi shared his first look as former Indian PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee from the film, ‘Main Atal Hoon’ on the latter’s birth anniversary today.

The film depicts the lives of India’s most loved and honored politician Atal Bihari Vajpayee and is directed by Ravi Jadhav and is set to release in December next year.

Pankaj can be seen donning the iconic looks of Shri Vajpayee in a dhoti-kurta and a jacket, a video clip has also been shared that introduces him as a poet, statesman, and an above all-gentleman.

Sharing his first looks from the movie on Instagram actor Pankaj Tripathi wrote in Hindi, “I know that it is necessary for me to work on my personality with restraint in order to make 'Atal' ji's personality come true on screen. I have firm faith that I will be able to do justice to my new role with enthusiasm and morale.”

Sharing the video montage Tripathi wrote in Hindi, “I have got this opportunity to portray this rare personality on screen. I am emotional and grateful."

The new project on Atala Bihari Vajpayee is presented by Bhanushali Studios Limited and Legend Studios, which is produced by Vinod Bhanushali, Sandeep Singh, Sam Khan, and Kamlesh Bhanushali and co-produced by Zeeshan Ahmad and Shiv Sharma, while the movie is written by Utkarsh Naithani and has music by Salim Sulaiman, with lyrics by Sameer. Sonu Nigam has lent his voice to the film.

On the work front, the national award-winning actor is also working alongside director Anurag Basu in the film Metro In Dino, which is loaded with some critically-acclaimed faces of Indian cinema, including Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Anupam Kher, Neena Gupta, Konkona Sen Sharma, Ali Fazal, and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Produced by T-Series and Anurag Basu Productions, Metro In Dino showcases bittersweet tales of human relationships in contemporary times. The film is currently being shot in Kolkata. Pankaj Tripathi will also be seen in a yet-to-be-titled film with Sanjana Sanghi and Parvathy Thiruvothu, which is being directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury.
