A video has gone viral on social media showing twohigh-ranking police officers indulged in a physical assault in Kullu town ofHimachal while the force was deployed to receive Union Minister for Road andTransport Highways Nitin Gadkari.

The incident has notably taken place in the presence ofJai Ram Thakur while he had reached Kullu to hail Union Minister Gadkari.

In the video, security in-charge of Himachal CM alongwith other police personnel could be seen heckling Superintendent of Police(SP) Gaurav Singh, who is posted in Kullu town and was assigned the overallsecurity.

Taking cognizance of the matter, the police headquartersShimla on Wednesday has ordered a probe into the incident.

In the video, Additional SP Brijesh Sood, who is incharge of the Chief Minister's security was seen 'kicking' Gaurav Singh justat the main gate of the Bhuntar airport near Kullu town.

It has been learnt from the sources that in retaliationthe Superintendent of Police also slapped his subordinate.

The statement issued by the police headquarters said, "Itis seized of the incident that occurred during the Kullu visit of the UnionCabinet Minister Nitin Gadkari."

"DIG (Central Range) Madhusudan is already on the spotand conducting an inquiry into the matter. The DGP, Sanjay Kundu, has also leftfor the spot to take stock of the situation himself," it added.

It is to be noted here that Union Minister Gadkariarrived at the Bhuntar airport to virtually inaugurate and lay the foundationstones of road projects worth Rs 6,155 crore from Manali on Thursday.

Describing the incident as unfortunate, the ChiefMinister said an inquiry has been ordered. "I have sought a report withinthree days and action would be initiated against the erring officer."
