Vigilance Bureau (VB) on Monday took Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora along with them and raided his in-law (Samdhi) Raju Madaan's house. Raman Arora's daughter is married to Raju Madaan's son. Raman Arora is on a 5-day Vigilance Bureau remand, and he has been facing corruption charges. The Vigilance team brought Raman Arora to the residence of Raju Madaan for questioning. During the visit, officials conducted an on-spot inquiry and questioned Arora at the location. The department, however, maintained a distance from the media during the proceedings. Shortly after, a video surfaced showing Arora being escorted back into a vehicle by officials.
Two individuals, namely- Mahesh Makhija and Raju Madaan, closely linked to Raman Arora, have reportedly gone into hiding. Although their names have not yet been officially added to the FIR, sources confirm that both are being actively searched by vigilance teams due to their close personal ties to Arora.
Sources have further informed that vigilance officials have recovered 20 to 25 property-related documents from Arora, which are currently being verified. Authorities have not ruled out the involvement of other influential individuals in the case. According to vigilance sources, the directive from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is clear: no one should be spared, but all actions must be evidence-based. Additionally, a prominent saree trader from Jalandhar — also known to be close to Arora — has come under the radar and may soon be questioned.
