Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora on Monday morning was discharged from the civil hospital, where he was taken by the Vigilance Bureau after his health deteriorated. As per information received, Raman Arora was having a blood pressure problem. Therefore, he was rushed to the hospital. Now, he is back in the Vigilance Bureau's custody as he has been serving 5 days remand on the court's order.

In the meanwhile, the investigation into corruption allegations against Jalandhar Central MLA Raman Arora continues to deepen, with the Punjab Vigilance Bureau intensifying its probe. Two individuals — Mahesh Makhija and Raju Madan — closely linked to Raman Arora, have reportedly gone into hiding. Although their names have not yet been officially added to the FIR, sources confirm that both are being actively searched by vigilance teams due to their close personal ties to Arora. Raju Madan is said to be a relative (samdhi), while the other is considered a trusted associate.

Sources have further informed that vigilance officials have recovered 20 to 25 property-related documents from Arora, which are currently being verified. Authorities have not ruled out the involvement of other influential individuals in the case. According to vigilance sources, the directive from Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is clear: no one should be spared, but all actions must be evidence-based.

Additionally, a prominent saree trader from Jalandhar — also known to be close to Arora — has come under the radar and may soon be questioned.

What happened during Raman Arora's interrogation?

During a joint interrogation session, an argument reportedly broke out between ATP Sukhdev Vashisht and Raman Arora. Sukhdev, already arrested in the same case, alleged that he acted on Arora’s instructions. Vigilance also conducted a raid at the residence of commission agent (Arhtiya) Mahesh Makhija in Charanjitpura and took him in for questioning.
