On Thursday at 8 a.m., the Vigilance team conducted a raid at the Municipal Improvement Trust office. During the raid, Vigilance arrested EO Kuljeet Kaur and clerk Harmeet Singh and took them to Mohali. EO Kuljit Kaur has been close to former Cabinet Minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu.
According to sources, a few days back, complainant Navdeep Singh, a resident of the village Haibowal, had sent the said complaint to the Chief Minister, Director Vigilance, and SSP Ludhiana Vigilance on 7 April. He alleged that the land of village Haibowal was acquired by the Municipal Improvement Trust. On which the numbers were put. When he went to get the map of the said plots passed, a lady officer demanded Rs 10 lakh from him. He had given one lakh rupees and the rest was to be paid later.

He also has a plot in Rajguru Nagar, instead of its NOC, the officer asked for money. In both cases, he gave five and a half lakh rupees to the said officer. Even after taking the money, the lady officer did not get the work done. He had complained to the Punjab Government and Vigilance regarding this.
