He is renowned for his amazing work in the Tamil cinema and is often called makkal selvan which means peoples treasure. His life was not an easy road but was more of a roller coaster as he struggled a lot.

 
The Actor once was employed in Dubai before entering the South film industry. He has been through some tough times and his life story is really inspiring.

 
As per a report published in pinkvilla, the actor has done various jobs to earn money before he earned a big name in the South film industry. The job profiles that the actor was involved in were a sales man at a retail store, a cashier at a fast food joint, and a phone booth operator. His main purpose to move abroad and earn money voice to support his three sisters back home. 

 
 
There are reports of the actor working as an accountant because he was earning twice of what he was earning in India. It was not just the money that was keeping Vijay in Dubai it was also that he had found the love of his life while there. Jesse Sethupathi, vijay's wife met him during his struggling days in the gulf country. The two tied the knot in 2003 and are blessed with two kids.

 
After his return to India the actor started his journey towards the Indian film industry. He started off as a supporting actor before playing the lead in ‘Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’. At the young age of 16, Vijay auction for a role in Nammavarr but did not bag the roll. Today he has done around 50 films, has had a number of blockbusters in his bag.

 
The actor will be next seen working on director Ponram’s upcoming film tentatively known as ‘VJS 46’. The film will be produced by Sun Pictures. it is alleged that Vijay will be playing the role of a cop in the film.
