Viral Video shows tribal youths harassing wild elephants in Tamil Nadu, 3 booked

Amidst the pandemic time, not only humans but animals are suffering too. The suffering of mankind and animals could be seen through the videos that go viral on the internet.

 

On Thursday, various disturbing videos of animal harassment have surfaced from Tamil Nadu in which youth can be seen having fun by making them suffer. In the video, tribal youths can be seen harassing wild elephants in forest areas near the Thirumurthy dam in the Tirupur district of Tamil Nadu.

 

The youths can be seen inciting elephants by hurling stones and chasing them with dogs.

 

It may be noted here that the video was shot on their mobile phones which then emerged as evidence of harassment in the restricted area of the forest.

After the video reached the Tirupur forest officials, a probe was launched to find the youths. Upon identification, a case was booked against three tribal youths under the Wild Life Protection Act for brutally teasing a wild elephant. The youths will be remanded soon, said, forest officials.

 

In the video, several other boys could be spotted sitting on tree branches enjoying the brutal act done by their fellows. When elephants try to run to save themselves, youths again hurl stones at them. In another similar video, an elephant cub can be seen harassed by the youths.

 

Reiterating a similar incident, last year in Kerala youths made a pregnant elephant eat a pineapple stuffed with firecrackers. Later, the elephant succumbed to her injuries.
