It is said that success comes at a cost, however, Bollywood actress and producer Anushka Sharma would never have thought that this phrase will turn into reality. Her web series on Amazon Prime 'Pataal Lok' is reaching new heights daily, however, it is also attracting controversies and trouble for Anushka.

After levying sedition charges and filing an FIR against Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA, Nandkishor Gurjar, has asked Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli to divorce the actress. Kishore took extreme measures against the actress after accusing her of using the pictures of BJP leaders including him for her web series Paatal Lok.

The MLA, who is from Uttar Pradesh’s Loni town, branded the show 'anti-national' and asked for a case to be filed against Anushka under the National Security Act for causing communal disharmony.

Gurjar's photo was used in a scene where Balkrishna Bajpayee's character plays a negative role in the series. Though the original photo was morphed, Gurjar's face was still recognizable.

Among the allegations that the BJP MLA levied, he said that the show attempted to malign BJP’s image and painted a terror-free portrait of Pakistan. He further said that castes in Sanatan Dharma and different Hindu agencies have been shown in a negative light in her series Paatal Lok.

Talking to a newswire, Nandkishor said that the welfare of the country holds utmost importance and Virat Kohli, being a patriot, should not tolerate this. He urged the cricketing icon to divorce Anushka immediately to send a strong message to everyone.

“Desh se koi bada nahi hai. Virat Kohli desh ke liye khelte hai aur desh bhakt hai. Unhone Anushka ko turant talak dena chahiye,” he had said.

The BJP politician has also sent a letter to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javdekar, requesting him to ban the streaming of the series due to the controversy.

After levying as grave charges on Anushka as “rashtradroh” or sedition, the politician has even posted pictures of the FIR on social media. The actress, however, is yet to respond to the entire controversy. The web series has been produced in collaboration with Anushka's firm Clean Slate Filmz.
