After her comment on Vamika, Virat, and Anushka's daughter went viral, Virat Kohli's sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra issued a statement. Since Vamika's birth, the couple has asked for privacy, requesting that the media refrain from photographing or using the child.
Bhawna was asked whether the family had met Vamika and how the child looked during an Ask Me Anything session. In answer to the question, Bhawna call to Vamika as an "angel."
Bhawna later clarified, asking media not to 'entertain' news that she recommended the child's look. she wrote, "Guys Virat and Anushka have already requested media to refrain from Vamika’s pics. Please do not encourage or entertain any news that suggest that I have revealed how she looks. I totally respect their decision and would not do so myself.”

The Indian cricketer had previously explained why the baby's pictures and videos were not shared on social media. In a conversation with his fans, he said, “No, we have decided as a couple to not expose our child to social media before she has an understanding of what social media is and can make her own choice.”
In a statement the birth of their daughter, Virat and Anushka said, “While we will always ensure that you get all the content you need featuring us, we would request you to kindly not take or carry any content that has our child.”
