Virginia Blast Video: Several firefighters killed in sudden explosion after authorities reach to control gas leak

The explosion was possibly caused by a gas leak levelled a home in Sterling, Virginia, Friday night, killing a firefighter and injuring 11 other people.

In a shocking development, multiple firefighters died after a horrific explosion took place in Virginia, USA. The firefighters and authorities had reached the spot after a possible gas leak was reported. As per reports, the explosion was possibly caused by a gas leak levelled a home in Sterling, Virginia, Friday night, killing a firefighter and injuring 11 other people. Firefighters were called to the home on Silver Ridge Drive by a report of a gas smell shortly after 7:30 p.m. and a fiery explosion took place about 30 minutes later. 

 

The Virginia blast took place while firefighters were inside the building, James Williams, assistant chief of operations for Loudon County Fire and Rescue was quoted saying during a conference. "Soon after arrival, with firefighters inside, the house did explode," Williams said adding that one firefighter was killed. Also, nine firefighters and two civilians were taken to hospitals, with injuries ranging from limited to severe. Williams further said the cause of the fire was under investigation.

 

Reacting to the Virginia blast, a user wrote, "God Bless Firefighters.. I saw them once they work so hard to save lives."

 

Another user wrote, "I hope everybody is OK..but looks like a gas leak..White House KJP just put out a statement..Stop using the gas stoves."
