
TheEducation Department, with a view to sensitise as well as equip the newlypromoted lecturers in English with the latest teaching techniques, methods andactivities, organized a four-day virtual induction training, which concluded onSunday.
StateResource Persons (English) Varinder Kaur Sekhon and Chander Shekhar coordinatedthe training programme.
TheEducation secretary, Krishan Kumar, in his inaugural address, whilecongratulating the newly promoted lecturers for attaining higher responsibilityexhorted them to avail the benefit of the training to build their capacity andenhance skills to ensure best use of their teaching experience for thebetterment of the students of senior secondary classes.
“Theproficiency in languages especially English is a must for the students to tapthe various educational and employment avenues in the present era of globalization",he added.
SCERTDirector Jagtar Singh Kulharia and Assistant Director (trainings) Salinder Singh also mobilised the participantsto focus on enhancing their skills.
StateReource Person, Chander Shekhar made them aware about the various innivativeactivities and projects including English Booster Clubs to encourage languageskills especially fluency in communication skill among the students.
Theresource persons including Anurag Sidhu, Shakti Kumar,Farzana Shamim, Deepak Sharma, Jatinder Kainth, HarpreetKaur, Rohit Saini and Yogita Joshi gave valuable tips regardingenhancing in four skills-LSRW, Phonetics, Grammar, Poetry and activities tomake learning of English interesting and interactive.
Theparticipants were visibly elated to have very effective learning sessions underthe mentorship of the resource persons and they assured to implement thetraining modules at the classroom level.
