Congress's Punjab State President Navjot Singh Sidhu took a swipe at his rivals Captain Amarinder Singh and top Shiromani Akali Dal leaders on Wednesday. At the same time, the outspoken Congress leader targeted Delhi CM and AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal.

Sidhu's strong statements come as he spoke in a media briefing in Amritsar, today. While slamming his opponents, Sidhu also justified his prior resignation as the party unit chief.

Notably, Navjot Sidhu had resigned from his post of PPCC head a few months ago, citing inaction in the drug case and appointment of compromised officials in the Charanjit Channi administration.

While justifying his decision, Sidhu said that "two months ago no one understood why I had resigned. But today everyone understands." He further added that "I will continue to fight against the mafia. My resignation has been justified today."

The cricketer-turned-politician also took a dig at his arch-rival Capt Amarinder. Sidhu said that "Captain Amarinder Singh and Badals have been operating jointly. Both were saving each other. Captain kept the STF report of drug case concealed for four years."

"Natha Singh & Prem Singh One & same thing !! Vote for Akalis is vote for Captain and Vote for Captain is Vote for Akalis !! I have been fighting this 75-25 system in public domain and in the closed rooms of Cabinet, since 2016," read a tweet by Sidhu.

In another tweet, he said to Capt Amarinder that "High Court gave STF report to you on 1 Feb 2018 with direction to proceed as per law. Today you are defending Majithia, teaming with Badals and openly fooling people of Punjab by saying that report is only with HC in sealed cover hence action cant be taken on it.”

Slamming Delhi Chief Minister, Sidhu tweeted, “AAP Chief @ArvindKejriwal first said “Sorry Sir” to Majithia now they run liquor mafia in Delhi in partnership with Akali MLA Deep Malhotra and allow Badal buses to Delhi Airport bt not PRTC buses. AAP backs 75-25 system, so they are saying FIR based on ED & STF report is a stunt.”

Sidhu’s strong remarks come as Senior Akali Dal leader Bikram Singh Majithia has gone underground. Special Investigation Team (SIT) of Punjab Police is continuously raiding different locations in search of Majithia, as a few days are left in the announcement of the elections 2022.
