A heart-touching video of forest department officials helping a wild elephant in getting out of a pit has gone viral. The video is widely shared on social media and people are praising the officials to revive the faith in humanity.

The dramatic video is of Karnataka’s Kodagu, where a wild elephant was stuck in a pit. The elephant had tried to enter the coffee fields, however, lost control and fell inside a trench. After trying many times, it was unable to get itself out and was screaming for help.

Being informed about the misery of the animal, Karnatka forest department officials arrived at the site for its rescue. With the help of a JCB, excavator officials were successful in freeing the trapped animal.

In the viral video, the elephant can be seen struggling to heave itself up. To help the elephant, forest officials used a JCB machine to gently push the elephant up.

After the rescue elephant can be seen nudging its head with the JCB excavator, which seems like it is thanking for help.

The video has already received more than one million views and many likes. Netizens are commenting and appreciating the officials for their timely help to the animal.

Praising them, one of the social media users wrote, “Such a delight to watch. Love to whoever was behind this.” Another user said, “That ‘head bump’ was the equivalent of a fist pump symbolizing gratitude- some sentiments like a thread weave through all sentient beings.
