The EnforcementDirectorate team raided around 10 places in Punjab including the house ofPunjab's Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi's Nephew in Mohali. ED issearching in multiple places in Punjab investigating the money laundering byillegal sand mining companies just before the elections of 2022.
CM Channi came forwardafter the raid at his Nephew Bhupinder Singh Honey's home. CM said that this isthe misuse of ED by the central government. The raid is being conducted totarget him and putting pressure on him before the elections. This is not goodfor the country's democracy.
He also said that the samething happened before West Bengal's election and now it is in Punjab'spolitics. ED raided in various parts of Punjab including Ludhiana, Mohali andHaryana's Panchkula.
