What did PM Modi tell the nurses who administered him Covid-19 vaccine?

P Niveda, a nurse from Puducherry who administered the Covid vaccine to the PM, has been with AIIMS for three years now, said she learnt this morning that the Prime Minister was coming for the vaccine.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday took the first dose of the Covaxin Covid-19 vaccine as the country begins with vaccination of persons above 60 and those over 45 with illnesses. Two nurses who hail from Kerala and Puducherry - Rosamma Anil and P Niveda -administered the shot to the prime minister. 

Speaking to the media, Sister Niveda said that the PM chatted with them and asked them where they belong. After receiving the vaccine, he remarked: "Laga bhi diya aur pata bhi nahin chala (Already done? I didn't even feel it)."

Sister P Niveda has been working with the AIIMS for three years now and said that she learnt this morning that the Prime Minister was coming for the vaccine.

"I am posted in the vaccine centre. I was called. We found out PM sir is coming today. It was great to meet PM sir," she said.

The nurse further added that PM will need the second dose of the vaccine in 28 days. 

With a smile, Rosamma Anil, the nurse from Kerala said she was surprised to know that the Prime minister will be coming for the vaccine. "It was very nice. Sir also was very comfortable," she added.

By taking the Covaxin Covid-19 vaccine shot that was surrounded by the controversy of getting approval without completion of the trial, PM Modi has tried to calm down all the hesitancy relating to the vaccine. He also posted a picture of himself taking the vaccine The prime minister also posted a picture of himself taking the first dose of the vaccine, by sporting a smile and an Assamese 'gamocha’. 

"Took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked in quick time to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who are eligible to take the vaccine. Together, let us make India COVID-19 free!" PM Modi tweeted after receiving the first jab of Covid vaccine.
