As per reports, AAP Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha will undergo a vitrectomy surgery in the United Kingdom to prevent the eye’s retinal detachment. The report quoted a party source saying that eye retinal detachment is characterised by the development of small holes in the retina. It poses a significant threat to eyesight and demands immediate intervention to prevent irreversible damage. Reports suggest that Chadha was advised to undergo vitrectomy surgery in the UK under the supervision of a senior specialist. Currently, Raghav Chadha's health and his eye condition are stable with no loss of vision. Now, the question arises what is eye’s retinal detachment? Below is everything you need to know-

What is the Eye’s retinal detachment?

As per Mayo Clinic, Retinal detachment is an emergency situation in which a thin layer of tissue (the retina) at the back of the eye pulls away from the layer of blood vessels that provides it with oxygen and nutrients. Retinal detachment is often accompanied by flashes and floaters in your vision.

Talking about Retinal detachment reason, a Government report stated that "as you get older, the vitreous in your eye may change in texture and may shrink. Sometimes, as it shrinks, the vitreous can pull on your retina and tear it. Other things that can increase your risk of rhegmatogenous retinal detachment are eye injuries, eye surgery, and nearsightedness."

Multiple medical reports suggest that if a person suffering from Eye’s retinal detachment then in such a situation when the patient looks into the sky, some figures appear floating, this is called a floater. In the initial time, you will see more floaters and after that gradually darkness will start appearing in front of your eyes and then you may lose your eyesight.

BJP Punjab Chief Sunil Jakhar took to his X handle and extended his best wishes to Raghav Chadha. Jakhar wrote, "In this politically surcharged atmosphere lots of reasons are being attributed to the intriguing absence of Sh Raghav Chadhha at this juncture. The silence of Sh Kejriwal and Sh Bhagwant Mann on this has only lent credence to such insinuations.  Now a news report suggests that Sh Chadha has gone to London for his eye treatment . If that’s the case, I wish him a quick recovery and good health."
