Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh’s manhunt has entered day 5 and still, Punjab Police has still not been able to nab the 'fugitive' pro-Khalistan leader. However, multiple developments in Amritpal Singh’s crackdown are reported on a daily basis. The latest development that has come up is that Punjab Police found the bike on which Amritpal Singh escaped from Nangal Ambia Gurudwara. Reportedly, Amritpal Singh’s bike was found near Darapur Village, Jalandhar. Now, the location from which Amritpal Singh’s bike was found is considered as the last location him as well. There are various routes from which Amritpal Singh can escape so that Punjab police and security agencies are not able to nab him.
Darapur Village from where Amritpal Singh’s bike was found is the center point and its nearby areas are Jalandhar(44.5km), Lohian(55.3km), Sultanpur(64.7km), Zeera(88.8km) and Kapurthala(59.8km). It is suspected that Amritpal Singh must have taken one of these routes to escape from the village. Also, Waris Punjab De Chief was quite aware of all routes and to what they lead as he spent around 25 years of his life at that very place only. This has created many challenges for the Punjab Police.
During the crackdown against Amritpal Singh, only government bus services were suspended. There are chances that Amritpal Singh could have escaped through a railway station or a private bus after changing his identity. IGP Sukhchain Singh Gill during his press conference also released a series of photographs suspecting that Waris Punjab De Chief might have changed his look to save himself from police. The government has also issued an LOC against Amritpal Singh so that he is not able to escape by taking a flight abroad.
On Tuesday, Punjab & Haryana High Court rapped up the Punjab government saying that Amritpal Singh’s escape is a pure case of ‘Intelligence Failure.’ The most important job of the Intelligence department is to keep a check on the locations of suspects but the department was not able to do a proper recce of Amritpal Singh.
Apart from this, Amritpal Singh’s social media handler Gurinder Pal Singh Aujla has been booked under the NSA Act and is a resident of Jalandhar. Other close associated of Amritpal Singh have also been taken into custody to get information about his escape plan or current hiding location.
