As per American media reports, Iam Tongi has Hawaiian roots. Tongi and his family moved from Kahuku, a town in O’ahu, Hawaii, to Seattle due to the rising costs of living on the island. During the American Idol 21 auditions, Tongi was asked the same that why he and his family left beautiful Hawaii and settled in Seattle. Within two days of his performance, his follower skyrocketed to more than 120,000 and has since crossed the 155,000 threshold. As of now, Tongi's followers count is 546K. Apart from this, Tongi is also a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had shared his faith on social media.
