In an absolutely shocking development, a top jockey was recently arrested over alleged rape charges and was later released on bail. As per UK media reports, the jockey has been among the top horse riders in Britain. After the Police pressed rape charges, he was released on bail as the cops carry out their investigation. Notably, after the Police action, the top Jockey was suspended by the British Horseracing Authority. Not only this but he was also barred from attending licensed premises while police carry out their investigation. As per reports, the name of the jockey has been kept under wraps as he has not been charged. The cops are currently investigating the matter, but is a fact that he was arrested. However, reporters say that the jockey has ridden at Grade 1 level. Also, the tainted jockey is believed to be receiving support and advice from the Professional Jockeys’ Association. Furthermore, he has not been seen on a racecourse since he was originally detained by the cops. Notably, the jockey was arrested shortly after his final appearance in the saddle for their yard. A BHA spokesperson was quoted by a UK media portal saying, "We do not comment on investigations or speculation surrounding possible investigations."

It is pertinent to mention here that it is not the first time a jockey has come under the radar of law enforcement agencies. In July this year, the U.S. Marshall's Service reported that 18-year-old jockey Bryson Butterfly was arrested for allegedly being involved in a murder that took place on April 23 in Baltimore County. Butterfly was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF), in Harpers Ferry, WV near Charles Town Racetrack.
