On Saturday, South Carolina Pastor John-Paul Miller was quoted in multiple US media portals saying that he lost his wife Mica Miller during a recent service after asking his congregation not to discuss it inside the church. To be precise, John-Paul Miller is a pastor at Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, SC. On Mica Miller's suicide, John-Paul Miller said, "I got a call late last night, my wife has passed away. It was self-induced and it was up in North Carolina,” Miller said before sharing the details for her planned memorial service. Y’all pray for me and my kids and everybody. You all knew she wasn’t well mentally and she needed medicine that was hard to get to her. I’m sure there will be more details to come, but keep her family in your prayers." Now, the question arises who was Mica Miller, and why her death has started to trend on social media with Americans demanding justice for her?
Who was Mica Miller?
Mica Miller, 30, reportedly hailed from Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mica Miller's obituary has sparked a massive uproar on social media with netizens smelling something fishy. As per an obituary for Mica Acacia Miller of Myrtle Beach quoted by US portal, the 30-year-old passed away last Saturday (April 27, 2024) in Lumberton, N.C. No cause or manner of death was referenced in the obituary. Mica Miller, originally of Wichita, Kansas, was married to John-Paul Miller. Investigators with the Robeson County sheriff’s office are leading the investigation into Mica Miller’s death.
Mica Miller's obituary says, "She truly served Jesus and her husband with all of her heart..She would praise her husband after every church service telling him he was the best preacher in the world (even if it wasn’t true). She also told him he was the funniest preacher in the world (even though that wasn’t true either)."
While the obituary seems fine in every way, what has raised the eyebrows of everyone is that Mica Miller filed for divorce from her husband. As per reports, just 48 hours before her death, John was served with papers. It is said that Mica had also filed for a 'no contact order' against John.
As per a US media portal, friends of the pastor’s late second wife were taken aback over Mica Miller’s death and urged officials to look into it “deeply.” Kenn Young was quoted saying, "This has to be at least looked into deeply. There’s got to be some accountability here...Because yeah, a tragic life was lost, and it’s not just as simple as mental health issues."
After the controversy, the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into the April 27 shooting.
