Why did Naman Mathur choose the gaming name 'Mortal'? YouTuber answers PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met India's top 7 gamers at his residence recently and interacted with them about the potential of VR & online gaming in India. The top 7 gamers & YouTubers included-  Payal Dhare aka Pyal Gaming, Naman Mathur famous by the name of Mortal, Mithilesh Patankar, Anshu Bisht, Ganesh Gangadhar, and Tirth Mehta. PM Modi interacted with the gamers one by one and talked about their early life and how they opted for gaming as a career. While interacting with the gamers, PM Modi asked Naman Mathur aka Soul Mortal how did he come up with such a name when people prefer 'immortal'? Below is what Naman Mathur said- 

Answering PM Modi's question, Naman revealed that he chose the name of the gaming name 'Mortal' randomly. Naman stated that he wanted to do something different and since people preferred the name immortal, he opted for the name Mortal. 

 

Who is Naman Mathur aka Mortal?

 

Naman informed PM Modi that he was born and brought up in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. Nam also highlighted that he is the 2022 winner of Battleground Mobile Pro Series Season 1 and also the Co-founder of S8UL Esports. 

 

Nama Mathur aka Soul Mortal, 27, began his gaming journey in 2016 when he launched his YouTube channel, where he posted videos of himself playing Mini Militia. During his interaction, Nama stated that he used to watch international gamers' streams and observed that Indians were filled in their comment section. Therefore, he also tried his hands in online gaming and uploaded his gameplay on YouTube which became viral. 

 

S8UL is a group of online gaming content creators and esports athletes. S8UL has won the Content Creator of the Year award at the Esports Awards twice in the years 2022 and 2023.
