Woman beaten, forced to carry village boy on shoulders for 3 KM in Madhya Pradesh

A case of misconduct with a 5-month pregnant has come to light in Guna area of Madhya Pradesh.

The woman's husband left her to another young man. The angry in-laws of the concerned woman took out her procession. A boy was made to sit on the woman's shoulder. She had walked for 3 km barefoot on a bumpy path.

Along the way, the woman was beaten while carrying the boy on her shoulders with sticks and stones.

The incident in the police record is of February 9, but its video went viral on Monday i.e. February 15. The police did not show seriousness in the case, according to a report published in Dainik Bhaskar.

Accused father-in-law, Jeth and Dewar (brother in laws) were released on bail only after registering a case of assault.

The woman was a resident of Banskhedi village of Guna. She told that two months ago, husband Sitaram left me at Dema's house in Sangai village and moved to Indore. On leaving, he said - 'I cannot keep you now, you stay with Dema.' On February 6, my father-in-law Gunjaria Varela, Jeth Kumar Singh, KP Singh and Ratan came and asked me to come home.

When the woman refused to go with them, they started beating her. She said, "A boy from the village sat on my shoulder and I was forced to carry him for 3 Kilometer barefoot from Sangai to Banskhedi.

The women is reported to be five months pregnant. She told Dainik Bhaskar,  "Still my father-in-law and the elder brother kept dragging me. During this, her husband called and insisted everyone to leave her but to no avail.

The case has been registered against the accused under Section 294 (abusing), Section 323 (pushing, slapping), Section 506 (threatening to kill). These can carry sentences ranging from three months to two years. Guna SP Rajiv Kumar Mishra said that the incident happened before he took office. In this case, strict action will be taken, said SP.
