The combined captains’ press conference was organized in England on Thursday for upcoming ICC World Cup, all captains from different countries were asked a rather imagined question where they get to select one player each from the other teams who they want in their teams.
After the Indian Premier League (IPL) which provides cricketers with the perfect platform to practice with other players from different countries, now cricketers have regrouped with their countrymen to start the preparation for the upcoming World Cup beginning on May 30 in England.
England’s Eoin Morgan one of the 10 captains had the most interesting response as he want Australia’s assistant coach to be on the coaching panel of his team, rather than picking a player. Here are the responses of the other captains:
Sri Lanka's Dimuth Karunaratne: Ben Stokes
South Africa's Faf du Plessis: Rashid Khan or Jasprit Bumrah in bowling, Virat in batting.
New Zealand's Kane Williamson: Maybe a bowler! Rashid Khan.
Pakistan's Sarfaraz Khan: Jos Buttler
Windies' Jason Holder: We have a good team. No one!
Bangladesh's Mashrafe Mortaza: That guy (pointing towards Virat Kohli)
Afghanistan's Gulbadin Naib: Depends on the day.
Australia's Aaron Finch: Kagiso Rabada
India's Virat Kohli: Faf du Plessis
The England's Jofra Archer said that he is most determined to get Kohli's wicket when the two face-off in the World Cup, the latter said that he isn't really focused on who is wanting to get him out more.
"As an individual, you don't really focus on who wants to get you out or if you are being spoken about more. I take a lot of pride in making impact performances. Jofra is a world-class bowler and there's a good reason why he has been included,” said the 30-year-old.
