In a shocking development, a severed foot with shoes on was found floating a top of a hot spring by a Yellowstone National Park employee. The Yellowstone National Park hot spring mystery has sent chills down the spine of the Americans with the people wondering what might have happened to the body or who could be the man who suffered such a painful death. Notably, the Yellowstone National Park was closed for the public on Thursday after tension flared following the discovery of a severed foot floating in the Abyss pool.

Reportedly, the foot was found in the Abyss Pool i.e. a hot spring at the West Thumb Geyser Basin in the southern part of the park, which is about 53 feet deep and reaches 140 degrees. As per US media, the Yellowstone National Park refused to comment on whether any foul play or murder angle might be there in the shocking Abyss pool incident.

It is pertinent to mention here that Yellowstone National Park is full of hot springs. The hot springs are formed by precipitation that seeps into the ground and becomes superheated to temperatures exceeding 400 degrees. The extremely hot water then rises to the surface, while the cold water sinks down making it a hot spring. While hot spring at times brings people towards it for relaxation in the extremely cold weather, the Abyss pool hot spring was not for recreational purpose at all.

It is to be noted that Abyss Pool is located in the southern part of Yellowstone. The Yellowstone National Park Abyss Pool hot spring has a depth of more than 50 feet and is one of the deepest hot springs in the park. It has an average temperature of 140 degrees.

As per Morgan Warthin, spokeswoman of the park stated that although the park has been reopened, an investigation is underway. It is to be noted that Abyss Pool is located in the southern part of Yellowstone.
