If you are planning to buy gold on this day, keep the following things in your mind:

1. Know The Purity- The purity of gold can be determined by carats. A 24kt gold piece is considered 99.9% pure and it descends as you pick 22kt, 18kt, 14kt etc. Investing in gold jewellery without checking is a big no.  Check its purity first. It is better to buy hallmarked jewellery so that you are ensured of the purity.

2. Making charges- A making charge is associated with every piece of gold jewellery, which is essentially the labour charge involved in creating it. Remember, that these charges can form upto 30 percent of your jewellery costs. You must request a reduction here.

3. Invoice- Ask for a valid cash memo or invoice with details as it provides transparency to the deal and provides assurance to the investor. If you are buying gold ornaments look for making charges and taxes. The investor has to pay GST (Goods and Services Tax) and share Aadhaar or PAN (Permanent Account Number) details for big purchases.

4. Avoid stone-studded jewellery- Stone studded jewellery is usually expensive and also doesn't have resale value. When you sell it, you won't get the price for the stones.

5. Gold rate - Before you make your purchase, find that days per gram gold price. Gold Price varies from city to city and the gold rates are changed twice a day. Also, remember that the gold prices are calculated based on the purity of the gold.
