The first look at the Marvel Legends action figurines for the forthcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness was leaked yesterday. There was also a deluxe figure for the film that showed off a new clothing that Benedict Cumberbatch's character would wear in the 2022 sequel, in addition to the wave of eight figurines that included several characters from the film and some other comic book favourites. The figure, dubbed "Defender Strange," appears to suggest that the good doctor will be sporting the same look as he had in the 2011 comic book reboot of The Defenders.

The action figurines also showed a glimpse of Doctor Strange in his ordinary suit, Doctor Strange in his Astral form, Wong, and most crucially, "Master Mordo" in his new costume, as well as America Chavez's first appearance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (played by Xochitl Gomez in the film). All of them are included in the latest Marvel Legends wave, along with comic characters Marvel's Sleepwalker and D'Spayre, with Rintrah the extraterrestrial that looks like a minotaur serving as the wave's build-a-figure.

At this point, only the characters who will feature in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness are known. Along with those already stated, Elizabeth Olsen will resume her role as Wanda Maximoff, nicknamed the Scarlet Witch, and Rachel McAdams will reprise her role as Christine Palmer. The film's most recent headlines have been about its extended reshoot schedule, which at first appeared to be a negative but which studio boss Kevin Feige has defended as an essential element of the studio's production process.

"Our films, beginning with Iron Man, rely heavily on reshoots. We at Marvel like to think of ourselves as clever filmmakers, but we're not geniuses, and the best way to provide feedback on a picture is to see it "In 2019, Feige stated. "So we make the film and then realise, "Oh yes, that's not right." That isn't going to work "and now we have a system that is both exact and efficient. [Reshoots last] one day, fifteen days, or even longer in order to keep going in and making the movie the best it can be."

The film Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in cinemas on May 6, 2022.
