Netflix released the much-awaited trailer of comedy-drama Inspector Zende. Ever since its trailer release, Inspector Zende started buzzing on social media as the makers stated that Manoj Bajpayee's upcomoming movie is inspired by true events.
Directed by Chinmay Mandlekar, Inspector Zende is revolves around a team of Mumbai Police and how they nabbed the notorious 'Bikini Killer' Charles Sobhraj. However, the trailer showcases fictional name of Charles Sobhraj i.e. Carles Bhojraj. It will be released on Netflix on September 5, 2025.

The character of Madhukar Zende is totally real. Inspector Madhukar Zende, had arrested Charles Sobhraj on April 6, 1986 in Goa. As per Tribune, Madhukar had three key clues to suggest that 'The Serpant' was hiding in Goa.
Charles had escaped from Delhi’s Tihar Jail in March 1986 after feeding the guards drug-laced food during a 'party' in the heavily-guarded prison complex. He then chose Goa as his hideout. However, his love for O’Coqueiro restaurant’s telephone service, a highway restaurant in Porvorim in Goa, led to his arrest from the coastal state.
Zende was posted at Gamdevi police station in 1971 when a thief named Ajay Parekh tipped him off about Sobhraj and crew planning a heist at the New India Assurance building in South Mumbai which saw a daily inflow of Rs 1-2 crore in cash at the time.
Only a month before that, Sobhraj had duped a jeweller in a Delhi five-star.
