From the universe of globally hit web series Money Heist, Berlin Season 2 is all set to take the OTT world by storm. Created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobat (the creators of Money Heist), Berlin Season 2 will start streaming on Netflix on May 15, 2026.
Berlin Season 2 is titled 'Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine' and it marks the return of Pedro Alonso as Berlin in the key roles. It also features Michelle Jenner as Keila, Tristán Ulloa as Damián, and more in the key roles.
Going by the trailer, in the latest season of the series, Berlin has been asked to rob a precious painting named Lady with an Ermine. The painting was originally done by famous painter Leonardo Da Vinci.
Now, the question arises whether Lady with an Ermine is a real painting or not. Furthermore, if real, where it has been kept?
The answer is yes. According to reports, Lady with an Ermine was painted around 1489–1490 during Leonardo Da Vinci's time in Milan. The painting depicts Cecilia Gallerani, mistress of Duke Ludovico Sforza, holding a white ermine symbolising purity.
As per Art page's website, Leonardo Da Vinci himself did not give the work a title. The name used today i.e. 'Lady with an Ermine' derives from the striking white animal in the sitter’s arms, identified as an ermine.
Lady with an Ermine painting is at the Czartoryski Museum in Kraków, Poland. Reports further suggest that the painting was acquired by Prince Adam Jerzy Czartoryski in 1798. Later, it joined the family collection and survived World War 2 theft by Nazis before returning to Poland. It is now a star exhibit, drawing visitors for its Renaissance mastery.
